Congratulations to Thasunda Brown Duckett👏🏾 Congratulations to Thasunda Brown Duckett👏🏾
And as the cool kids say, “Love to see it!” 👏🏾
Let’s get down to closing the wealth gap!
It’s been a while since I posted my starting and It’s been a while since I posted my starting and current numbers with debt.
I got serious about paying off my debt when my balances reached $100,000 - all mine and not including our mortgage.
That $100k consisted of:

$20k - Credit Cards
$23k - Car Loan
$65k plus - Student Loan

I can’t remember my exact student loan starting debt but it was around $65k, heck back then the balance was increasing every month due to interest.

Anywho, I’m now at $29,700 and I haven’t paid much on my loans since the pandemic forbearance started last year. However, I’m thinking once we move I’m probably going to start back chipping away at this debt. I’m honestly just ready to have it paid off.

Feel free to share if you want, how much debt do you have remaining to pay off?
Or leave an encouraging word for someone on their debt free journey 👇🏾

I know it’s real easy to whip out a credit card I know it’s real easy to whip out a credit card to buy all the things you feel you deserve and then ONLY have to pay the minimum payment. Eventhough only the minimum is required your goal should be to pay your credit card bill in full each month. Otherwise you’re paying interest on that brunch you charged, the gas you put in your car, the lunch you charged or those clothes you bought - you’re essentially taking a loan out for those purchases and paying interest on them until you pay your balance off in full!

There’s nothing wrong with using credit cards, just use them wisely. Pay them off monthly and don’t let Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Amex make money off of you.

Make a habit of paying your credit card in full each month!
